About: The Brahma Kumaris group approached the designers with the challenge of designing a moveable installation that would entice people into meditation and enlightenment. The temporary structure utilised the most fashionable products such as Marblo, Axolotl, stained timber and pigmented concrete. The column was constructed using 26mm thick Marblo Opal material, and a combination of seamless joints and feature joints were used to have the column come together neatly. The ‘Pod’ seat was also constructed out of 26mm thick Material and was seamlessly jointed at site to form a beautiful, organic shape that would glow with the afternoon sun, revealing the structure of the metal frame beneath.
