The Law Society of New South Wales |

The team at PMDL architects along with Project managers, Savills and Buildcorp
Interiors have successfully completed the refurbishment of The Law Society of
New South Wales located in Phillip St, Sydney.
A key feature of the project was the
revitalisation of a rear cavernous light well into a voluminous and lively
light filled 2 level mezzanine restaurant atrium and lounge area linked to the
reception and meeting rooms by a simple crisp white staircase. The
striking crescendo to the restaurant space is a soaring expanse of
backlit Marblo® feature wall panelling designed to artificially balance
the ever-changing natural daylight entering the space by a full-width ribbon
skylight above.
The ‘White Beach’ colour Marblo® product was simply and economically used in its full size format sheet size. Panels were installed onto the wall by Joinery gurus Van & Sons utilising a combination of stainless steel decorative fins and patch fittings.
The result is a beautifully balanced & articulated space bathed in the warmth of Marblo® panels where Law Society members and guests can spill out and relax on the mezzanine lounge before congregating and enjoying a dining experience in the restaurant below.
Completed in August 2011 the project involved refurbishment of 12 levels of office space incorporating tailor made office suites, council rooms, meeting spaces, 40 seat restaurant, library, entry foyer, reception and administration facilities as well as a complete upgrade of lift services and mechanical ventilation systems.
